Why I built Ash & Elm
After more than 10 years in clinical practice, I kept running into the same wall: a healthcare system so driven by insurance billing and volume metrics that there was barely time to listen. I went into medicine to build relationships, not to check boxes.
Ash & Elm is my answer to that. A practice where I know every patient by name. Where a visit is as long as it needs to be. Where I can text you back directly instead of routing through a call center.
I chose Battle Ground because it’s a community that deserves better access to primary care. It’s where I want to build something lasting — a practice rooted in Respect, Transparency, and Integrity. The name Ash & Elm comes from Norse mythology, where the first man and woman were shaped from ash and elm trees. It felt right: grounded, natural, and built for family.

About the name
In Norse mythology, the first man was made from an ash tree, the first woman from an elm. It’s a story about origins, about the foundation of human life, and about family. We chose Ash & Elm because it captures something we believe deeply: that individualized healthcare begins with knowing who you are, where you come from, and what your family needs.
